Annual LA Prostate Cancer 5k

Where: USC Campus- 1441 Eastlake Ave. LA, CA 90013

When: Registration opens 6:30 a.m.

Event Details: USC Hosts the Annual L.A. Prostate Cancer 5K Benefiting Prostate Cancer Research and Treatment. The L.A. Prostate Cancer 5K is the only event of its kind in California honoring prostate cancer patients, survivors and loved ones who have passed away because of the disease. Runners, joggers and walke…rs of all levels are encouraged to participate in this 5K to be held at the University of Southern California. In addition to the 5K, there will be a health expo where attendees will learn about the latest in prostate cancer treatments and research, along with live entertainment and free giveaways.

• Pre-run warm-up with Celebrity Fitness Guru Kim Lyons.
• Welcome by Dr. Inderbir Gill (USC Institute of Urology Chairman).
• Course is flat and fast in and around the USC campus.
• All participants will receive a 2012 L.A. Prostate Cancer 5K T-shirt, and prizes will be awarded to top finishers and randomly to event participants.
• Electronic timing is available.
• Health expo located in Alumni Park featuring food, beverages and health information specific to prostate cancer. USC faculty physicians will be at the expo to answer questions about early detection of prostate cancer and new treatment options.
